Recruitment fraud alert

2 min read

Important Notice: Recruitment scams are on the rise. It’s come to our attention that scammers are impersonating WilsonHCG employees and reaching out to candidates about potential job opportunities with us. These fraudulent messages may come via fake social media accounts, WhatsApp or chat apps, or via text messages. They reach out offering job details and in exchange, ask for personal information or sometimes even ask for financial info or payment. Please note that WilsonHCG follows all industry and legal standards for recruitment practices and will never ask you via text or social media for financial or payment information. We are taking all appropriate measures to address this but need your help to identify and report these scammers, to put an end to it.

How can you tell if an outreach message is authentic or not?

The FTC issued guidance on how to spot a job scam and how to report it here. WilsonHCG follows strict standards on recruiting practices, such as:

  • Posting all internal job opportunities on the company's official careers page. Additionally, while we may contact you about a job opportunity on behalf of a client, there will always be an official job posting shared.
  • Contacting you via phone call, email, LinkedIn or other social media, or text message. However, we will conduct a phone interview for job consideration, not just over chat or text.
  • Sending emails from the @wilsonhcg.com or @wilsoncws.com domains (WilsonHCG employees will never use their personal email addresses for communication, such as Gmail, Hotmail etc.).
  • Our employees will never ask a candidate for payment of any kind as part of the hiring or onboarding process. We will not offer to send a check or gift card prior to starting employment.

How can you recognize recruitment fraud on social media?

Scammers may create fake social media profiles that look similar to WilsonHCG employee profiles. Please do your due diligence to validate the authenticity of these accounts, and look for things like:

  • Multiple profiles using the same name and profile picture
  • Lack of real personal information
  • Low number of connections within WilsonHCG
  • Low activity, i.e. not liking or sharing any posts
  • No recommendations given or received

What to do if you suspect fraud?

If something feels off and you suspect recruitment fraud, trust your instincts and cease communication immediately. Never text sensitive or financial information and never send any payments.

Contact WilsonHCG’s internal recruiting team at internalrecruiting@wilsonhcg.com and share supporting information, including copies of any correspondence you may have had with the suspected imposter. If our IR team confirms a recruitment contact is fraudulent and not a WilsonHCG employee contacting you, please report it:
